Terms & conditions of applications

for the application as a member of the Zawinul Youth Jam Band

Please read the following requirements and conditions of participation carefully. Incorrect registrations will not be considered.

The participant must be between 8 and 14 years old by September 1, 2024.
The registration form must be filled in completely.
The application must include an application video.
An incomplete application will automatically not be considered.
Registration deadline: December 8, 2023 at 11:59 pm (CEST)
Additionally, note the video guidelines and song list below.
Dates and prices are subject to change at the discretion of the Joe Zawinul Foundation for Achievement and the Zawinul Music School Gumpoldskirchen, especially to protect and promote the health of all participants

Video submission guidelines

Together with the application form, please submit an application video in which the participant performs 2 jazz standards from different styles from the song list below.

Video requirements:

Total length of the application video: maximum 5 minutes.
No existing video footage, video clips, YouTube videos, or other previously produced and/or broadcast footage may be used for the application video.
The video may be shot with any type of camera (including smartphone).
The video must be submitted as either an MP4 or MOV file. All other formats will be rejected.
Performance of two jazz standards from different styles.
Accompaniment (e.g. with piano, band, playback or similar) is allowed but not required.
The video may contain your own improvised solo. However, this is voluntary and does not lead to a preference of the applicant.
The participant must be clearly visible and audible on the video. The video must focus on the participant.

Video Upload:

Only videos will be accepted that have been uploaded to WeTransfer.
The video must be uploaded to WeTransfer as a link. This link must be included in the registration form.
Applications by other means or by means of other file hosters will not be accepted. We only accept WeTransfer as a file hoster.

Songlist

The songs do not have to be played in the original key, but can be transported to any position and key. The application video must contain two songs, each from a different style.
